The exhibition “Instant Revolution” by artist Željko Vitorović will be opened on Monday, December 6th, starting at 7 PM in the exhibition space KvArt BW, on the second floor of the Galerija shopping center.
The individual’s alienation in the consumerist world that destroys everything in front of him are the main motives and interesting spheres of Zeljko Vitorovic’s work. In classical painting language, he dedicates himself to the figure, a man neglected by his society, left and questioned about his existence and the meaning in a twisted value system where the individual becomes tiny, weak, and invisible. Humorously, he combines the act of consumerism and the way of the artificial Instagram of life with the symbol of the past order – creating the “Insta pioneer,” the perfect result of modern social reality.
“Instant Revolution” provides a unique mixture of communist symbols and abandoned value systems, space, and intellectual questioning to which the individual indulges in moments of isolation and loneliness, an ideal world of consumption, splendor, and enjoyment of instant content that again leads to a vicious circle of dissatisfaction and alienation. Zeljko Vitorovic graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, at the Department of Painting, in 2008 in the class of Professor Cedomir Vasic. He completed a specialization in painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts in 2012. He has been a member of ULUS since 2017. He had nine solos and participated in over twenty group exhibitions in Serbia and abroad.
The exhibition is organized by the gallery Štab and the KvArt BW art initiative and will be open until December 16, 2021.
The working hours of the gallery are every day from 11 AM to 9 PM. Admission is free.
