The exhibition “Paintings” by artist Goran Rakić will be opened on Monday, June 20 at 8:00 PM in the KvArt BW exhibition space, on the second floor of Galerija.
“Through this exhibition, Rakić presents to the Belgrade audience the latest series of paintings in which he synthesizes his previous experiences – drawings, color and monochrome paintings. An important determinant in understanding the artist’s procedure is the titles of the works: Twosome, Rainy Day, Doctor Kostić’s Car, Hint of the Wind”, says the curator of the exhibition Ksenija Marinković.
Goran Rakić was born in 1956 in Kragujevac. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo in 1986, in the class of Professor Milivoj Unković, Department of Painting. He completed his postgraduate studies in Belgrade, at the Faculty of Fine Arts, in the class of professor Živojin Turinski in 1991. He has been a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS) since 1987, and was employed as a full professor at FILUM in Kragujevac where he lives today.
