The Fifth Chinese Lantern Festival

The Fifth Chinese Lantern Festival

The Chinese Lantern Festival will be held again this year on the Sava Promenada, in front of Galerija, the largest shopping center in the region, from Saturday, January 21 to Sunday, February 5.

For the fifth year in a row, Serbia celebrates the Chinese New Year by lighting lanterns and displaying illuminated installations that represent the spirit and symbolism of ancient China.

The lanterns spectacle was created by one of the world’s leading companies for the production of artistic lanterns – Zigong Haitian from China, and the festival was started by artist Slobodan Trkulja.

In addition to the magic of light on Belgrade’s favorite promenade, which includes the animal kingdom, dragons, magical deer, fish and African animals, inside Galerija, at entrance number 5, every weekend until February 5, at 5 PM, a traditional Chinese ceremony of making and preparing tea will be held, during which aromatic Chinese drinks will be served.

The lanterns will be turned on every evening from 5 PM. The entrance to the event is free, and Galerija is open every day from 10 AM to 10 PM.
