Belgrade Waterfront marks an important moment of development – 10,000 sold apartments, which confirms the huge confidence of buyers and the fact that this part of the city has become one of the most desirable places to live in the capital. Over the past decade, Belgrade Waterfront has grown into a modern city quarter with amenities that combine living, education, recreation, culture, gastronomy and tourist attractions along the Sava river.
The new urban face of the capital
Since the groundbreaking in 2015 until today, a completely new part of the city next to the Sava was formed and is still being built. So far, around 6,600 apartments in 34 buildings have been completed, while a total of 58 buildings have been launched. In addition to residential development, Belgrade Waterfront brought more than 16 km of new city streets with complete infrastructure, Sava Park, two kilometres of Sava Promenada, a modern public elementary school and a kindergarten.

In the spirit of old Belgrade
Belgrade Waterfront didn’t just built new – it preserved and restored the old. The Belgrade Cooperative building from 1907, one of the most beautiful pieces of Serbian architecture from the beginning of the 20th century, was restored. Bristol hotel from 1912, today The Bristol Belgrade, was also renovated, while Sava Square was revitalized as one of the city’s representative spaces.

The restoration of the Old Post Office by architect Momir Korunović in Savska Street, is underway. Upon completion, it will be home to the Archaeological Museum and theatre, while the restoration of the former railway bridge from 1884 and its transformation into a pedestrian zone is also planned. In the same spirit, the former Milan Vapa’s Paper Mill from 1924 is getting a new purpose – as the home of the future Nikola Tesla Museum, according to the project of the Zaha Hadid Architects and the local Bureau Cube Partners.
The direction of future development
The next period brings a new stage of development. Next to Gazela, a new hotel is being built, and Belgrade Waterfront will get a contemporary green market, modeled on those of European metropolises.

Belgrade Waterfront is getting its extension through BW Marina, the next phase of the development along the Sava riverbank, which brings a marina, a yacht club, an opera house and the Belgrade Eye ferris wheel. BW Marina creates contents intended for culture, tourism and recreation, confirming the continuation of the development of one of the largest projects in this part of Europe.
