The modern marina and yachting club of Belgrade Waterfront, as part of the new city quarter BW Marina, will further enrich life on the river and open a new chapter in the development of the waterfront. BW Marina represents a new marina in Belgrade Waterfront, situated on the right bank of the Sava River, as a carefully designed masterplan where culture, nature and modern infrastructure meet in a unique setting.
The river as the epicentre of city life
The new marina on the Sava River will have 117 moorings and will be located in a tucked part of the river, outside its main flow, thus providing optimal conditions for safe docking and protection of vessels throughout the year, as well as for preserving the dynamics of river traffic.
With a water area (aquatorium) of around 15,500 square metres and an additional 9,000 square metres of coastal space, BW Marina will be a carefully designed space where the river becomes a central part of everyday city life. In this way, the city and the river function in perfect harmony, and coastal life is additionally enriched and becomes a privilege that can rarely be experienced in the world’s metropolises.
A modern yachting club, conceived as a new venue for meeting and enjoyment by the river, will be in the centre of the marina. The restaurant within the club will be positioned to offer guests the best view of the marina, while the outdoor swimming pool, facing the river, will further emphasize the uniqueness and beauty of this part of the city. Inspired by the world’s prestigious nautical centres, the marina in Belgrade Waterfront is designed as a space that combines recreation, social life and relaxation in direct contact with the river.
The promenade will be directly connected to the coastal part of the marina, enabling a continuous walk along the Sava and creating the natural link among the river, public realm and future amenities in the surroundings. At the same time, the marina will be perfectly connected with the square in front of the future opera building. In this way, this part of the city will represent a unique whole in which culture, recreation and everyday life naturally intertwine.
Cultural centre and oasis of peace
