My funny Marlboro exhibition by artist Lazar Rodić will be opened on Monday, October 31 at 7 PM in the KvArt BW exhibition space, on the second floor of the Galerija.
My funny Marlboro is another in a series of exhibitions of the curatorial project Perspektiva 22, the aim of which is to provide an opportunity for young regional authors to present their work to a domestic audience. Visitors will have the opportunity to see paintings and drawings made using the combined technique on large-format canvases.
“With the exhibition My funny Marlboro, Lazar Rodić examines the distorted values and perception of modern man. Using the modern language of European art brut, imprecise and expressive visual expression, he places a packet of Marlboro cigarettes in the focus of communication, which becomes a recognizable symbol of the so-called colorful lies and the main tool in the exchange of real values”, says Ana Kršljanin, art historian.
Lazar Rodić was born in 1991 in Drvar, and he finished his master’s studies in 2018 at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka in the department of painting. He currently works as an animator and illustrator in the publishing house Art Scena in Banja Luka. He exhibited several times independently and collectively at exhibitions of local and international importance in the countries of the region.
My funny Marlboro exhibition is organized by ŠTAB Galerija and KvArt BW artistic initiative. The exhibition will be open until November 9, 2022, and the working hours of the KvArt BW gallery are every day from 11 AM to 7 PM. The entrance to the exhibition is free.
