Concert of the Spanish band Gipsy Kings

The famous Spanish band Gipsy Kings will have a concert on May 19 on the plateau behind the Geozavod building. The band that marked more than three decades on the world music scene presents a unique combination of flamenco and rumba, under the influence of pop music.

Their irreplaceable mix of guitars, passionate vocals and infectious rhythms have created legendary songs for all ages, and the upcoming concert will be an opportunity for another journey through the musical heritage of a group whose creativity is deeply rooted in the French Gipsy heritage.

The founder of the group, Andre Reyes, formed this band whose name still means to many people in the world of contemporary art, thanks to hits “Bamboleo”, “Volare”, “Djobi, Djoba”, “Sin Ella” and many other.

They were nominated nine times for the prestigious American “Grammy” award, and they won it for the album “Savor Flamenco” in The Best World Music Release category (2014).

Their albums achieved great success in many European countries, especially in France, Italy, England and Spain, and were sold in more than 60 copies, which brought global popularity to the band.
