700 Workers Active Across Five Construction Sites On Belgrade Waterfront

Construction works on Belgrade Waterfront are progressing as per the project timeline, with approximately 700 workers, five main contractors and 21 consultants active across five construction sites within the project.

Approximately 80,000 m3 of concrete and 12,000 tons of steel have been used so far as part of the first phase. According to the project plan, BW Residences will welcome its first tenants in 2018.

Over the past few weeks, a significant part of the construction works on Belgrade Waterfront project has been taking place under the surface. Citizens will soon be able to witness the construction of Kula Belgrade, the newest landmark in the city, as well as the BW Galerija, the most representative shopping mall in the region, as soon as the above-ground works start during September 2017.

Piling works for the construction of BW Galerija and Kula Belgrade, the central part of Belgrade Waterfront, have recently been completed. The reinforced concrete structure of BW Residences has been completed ahead of schedule, whilst facade and inner works (utilities and finishing) are in progress. In the residential buildings; BW Vista and BW Parkview, the ground level and basement slabs are underway, and works above the ground level will begin in September 2017. The first stretch of the boulevard, which will feature bike paths lined with greenery, will also open to the public by the end of September 2017.

Nikola Nedeljkovic, General Manager of Belgrade Waterfront said: “Since the design phase of Belgrade Waterfront, we have been committed to adopting international best practices across all our development efforts. The progress we have achieved so far in the construction of the project is remarkable, demonstrated by the completion of the reinforced concrete structure of BW Residences and the piling works for BW Galerija and Kula Belgrade. The upcoming start of main works at Kula Belgrade will be a major milestone in this a first-of-its-kind development for Serbia.”

“All our construction works are being implemented as per schedule and we look forward to welcoming our first residents next year,“ Nedeljković concluded.

The works on Belgrade Waterfront project are being implemented in accordance with world-class construction and safety standards, with special attention given to soil configurations due to the nature of the buildings. All construction phases will be realised within the set deadlines.
