One of the largest construction projects in the region, Belgrade Waterfront, continues to take shape and progress in line with the set deadlines and plans.
Residents are due to move into the first residential building, BW Residences, in spring 2018. The main construction work on the largest shopping mall in the region, BW Galerija, have started, while The Residences at The St. Regis Belgrade, the first luxury branded St. Regis apartments in Europe, have also launched.
Nikola Nedeljkovic, General Manager of Belgrade Waterfront, commented: “Now that we have several active construction sites, citizens can witness the development of one of the most monumental projects in Serbia in a unique ambience by the river. We are cooperating with renowned domestic and international companies, while also using the highest quality materials and applying the highest construction standards, thus contributing to the development of the domestic construction industry.”
“We are beyond pleased that much has been done to revitalise the historic neighbourhood of Savamala, which has made this part of the capital more attractive”, said Nedeljkovic, adding that the first building within the project, BW Residences, will welcome residents in spring 2018.
Work on further residential buildings including BW Parkview and BW Vista is also in progress. These buildings, both 82 metres high, will offer a wide range of amenities and cater to a variety of lifestyles, with the first residents due to arrive in 2019.
Nedeljkovic stated: “We are very satisfied with the current interest from buyers in Belgrade Waterfront residential units”, noting that the company’s expectations in terms of sales have been exceeded. “Because of this, in 2018 we will launch new and exciting projects that we are confident will further contribute to the development of the capital.”
The construction of BW Galerija, the largest shopping mall in the region, is also progressing according to plan. Structural works commenced in September and so far over half of the foundation slab has been completed, with a hundred pillars already in place. The future leading shopping destination, which will include brands that have never been seen on the Serbian market before, will open in 2020. BW Galerija will thrill those who enjoy shopping while also offering plenty of entertaining and educational content for visitors of all ages.
Piling works have been completed at Kula Belgrade, the future symbol of the capital and the centrepiece of the Belgrade Waterfront, and main construction works are due to commence soon.
“We are immensely proud of Kula Belgrade, which is an impressive building representing a true tourist attraction as the future highest building in the country,” Nedeljkovic concluded.
Kula will host the exclusive St. Regis brand, representing its seventh hotel in Europe and placing Belgrade among the most prestigious European cities. Meanwhile, The Residences at The St. Regis Belgrade have also been launched. These apartments will be located in Kula, providing an entirely new residential experience.
In 2017, Sava Promenada positioned itself as one of the favourite city promenades for its role as a destination where the whole family can gather and engage in activities ranging from concerts and children’s festivals to dance evenings. In 2017, another terrace on two levels was added to the promenade, as well as new paths along the river. The first street within Belgrade Waterfront is another step toward building a circled community that provides everything residents need for a comfortable life. The street is part of the future two-kilometre-long and 40-metre-wide boulevard, which will include a bicycle path alongside the pavement.
